The father and son take on a challenging winter season. Pursuing his dream lifestyle, their neighbour Niall decides to build a home using clay harvested from his land. Mining for clay is new to the team and Sarah finds herself responsible for transporting this precious cargo in the new track dumper. As the clay piles up Niall gives the whole team a lesson in traditional wattle and daub construction on a wall of his hand-built compost toilet.
The team take on a super-sized stonework project, and as Clive has decades of stone-working experience, Reuben turns to his dad for help with this season's workload. By mid-September, Clive, Reuben and his best friend Tom begin the business's biggest stone works project to date, using huge chunks of granite to construct a 30-foot drystone wall and pathway.
Clive Owen and his son Reuben travel beyond their remote hill farm in the Yorkshire Dales to embark on an exciting digging business venture together. Reuben is commissioned to dig a series of wilderness ponds in the village of Langwathby in Cumbria. It's his biggest job to date, and to cope with the burgeoning workload Reuben recruits girlfriend Sarah and best friend Tom to help him. Later, Reuben wins a contract to haul huge oak beams for a friend's stone barn renovation.
