Emma sets a trap for the team in North Korea 1950, and the group risk their lives to save a pregnant Korean refugee and stop Rittenhouse once and for all.
To save Rufus and keep Rittenhouse from winning, Flynn realizes what he has to do. The team travels to Sutter's Mill in 1848 and meet Joaquin Murrieta--an inspiration for the story of Zorro--and take on Rittenhouse's last sleeper agent. However, Emma has a backup plan.
After Jessica abducts Jiya, Jiya manages to escape Rittenhouse and travels to San Francisco 1888. The team track her there, but she refuses to return because that triggers the series of events that lead to Rufus' death. Meanwhile, Rittenhouse undergoes a change in management.
The agents travel to 1863 to help Harriet Tubman win a critical battle in the Civil War. Meanwhile, Jiya learns the location of another person who suffers from visions, and Denise questions Jessica's allegiances.
The team trace the Mothership to Washington DC, 1981, but learn that Reagan isn't Rittenhouse's target. Rittenhouse is going after Denise to stop her from creating the time travel program, To preserve the program's future--and their own--Lucy and Jiya try to convince a young Denise to accept her destiny.
The team travels to 1919 to stop Rittenhouse from assassinating Woodrow Wilson, but soon discover that Rittenhouse has a much more sinister purpose in mind. Meanwhile, Rufus deals with the news of his future, and Wyatt tries to come to terms with his feelings for Lucy after he sees her with Flynn.
With Wyatt on assignment in the present and a fourth seat installed in the lifeboat, the team takes Connor with them as they go back to 1936 to make sure that Robert Johnson records his first record.
To save John F. Kennedy from Rittenhouse sleeper agents in 1934, Rufus and Wyatt bring him to the present... where he escapes. Meanwhile, Jessica realises that Wyat and Lucy were involved, and Rufus and Jiya discuss whether they can alter history.
With Wyatt absent, Garcia accompanies Lucy and Rufus to Salem 1692 and discover that Rittenhouse is arranging the execution of Benjamin Franklin's mother. Meanwhile, Carol must balance her responsibilities to Lucy and Rittenhouse, Wyatt meets with the "new" Jessica, and Jiya tells Rufus about her visions.
The team tracks the Mothership to 1941 and realize that Rittenhouse plans to get a column in William Randolph Hearst's paper and alter history as it happens. To stop Rittenhouse, the team joins forces with Hedy Lamarr. In the present, Denise makes a deal with Garcia while a doctor examines Jiya.
The team tracks the Mothership to South Carolina, 1955, and realizes that Rittenhouse plans to sabotage the stock car race there. Meanwhile, Carol oversees Nicholas' introduction to 2018, and Lucy and Wyatt end up in close quarters.
Now a part of Rittenhouse, Lucy travels back to 1918 with Carol and Emma to save a wounded soldier. Meanwhile, the rest of the team retreats to a secret government bunker to repair the Lifeboat and stop Rittenhouse.
With Jiya's help, the team travels to 1954 to stop Flynn from blowing up the Rittenhouse summit. However, the effort may prove too much for one of them. Meanwhile, Lucy devices a plan to stop Rittenhouse... but will have to join forces with Flynn to succeed.
When the NSA sends Rufus and Lucy back to 1962 to kill Flynn's mother, they hijack the Lifeboat and meet up with Wyatt and Denise. However, the team learns that Flynn is visiting 1931 and goes back to stop him. Meanwhile, the NSA take Jiya into custody while Mason offers Cahill a deal.
After Wyatt is taken into custody, Rufus and Lucy follow Flynn to 1927 to stop him from interfering with Charles Lindbergh. Meanwhile, the NSA takes over the project and assign a new soldier to the team.
Wyatt convinces Rufus to help him go back in 1983 and keep the parents of his wife's killer meeting and having a child. Meanwhile, Anthony contacts Lucy with a plan to stop Rittenhouse and Flynn.
Flynn travels to 1882 to save Jesse James and hire him to lead him to a remote cabin. The team follows him to 1882 and team up with Marshal Bass Reeves and his friend Grant to track Flynn and Jesse down. Meanwhile, Connor begins training Jiya so that she can replace Rufus.
Rufus and Wyatt track Flynn and his captive Lucy to the 1893 Chicago World Fair. However, Flynn, anticipating their arrivals, sends them to the World's Fair Hotel: the "Murder Hotel" of serial killer H.H. Holmes.
The team trace Flynn to 1780 and discover that he plans to use Benedict Arnold to get to Rittenhouse... and kill him. Now the trio must decide whether they will help Flynn or hinder him.
Following a photo from the warehouse raid, the team travels back to 1934 to discover why Flynn is interested in a particular bank and a necklace key. Wyatt and Lucy end up teaming with Bonnie and Clyde, who are robbing the bank... and Bonnie has the key on her neck. Meanwhile, Denise begins an investigation into Connor.
The trio heads to 1963 to stop Flynn from stopping Apollo 11's successful mission. However, Flynn seems more interested in a mysterious side mission. Meanwhile, Rufus confronts his mentor Anthony.
Flynn lures the team to 1754 Pennsylvania to strand them in the past. After Rufus leaves a buried message to tell the team in present what to do next, he and the others go to nearby French fort to get what they need to repair their ship.
The team track Flynn to 1972 and discover that he's trying to obtain the missing Nixon tape... where Nixon refers to Rittenhouse. Meanwhile, Flynn reveals that Lucy has been keeping secrets from the teamm, and Rufus is forced to admit that he's been spying for Rittenhouse.
Flynn's newest attempt to alter history revolves around Santa Anna's attack on the Alamo in 1836. To stop it, the team must help the defenders last long enough to get the civilians to safety. Meanwhile, Wyatt is informed that the current mission will be his last as he is being reassigned.
The team heads back to 1944 to stop Flynn from giving his recently-acquired nuclear bomb to the Nazis. However, they soon wonder if he's up to something much more complicated. Meanwhile, Rufus considers his loyalties, and Wyatt gives Lucy advice on dealing with her anxieties in the field.
The team heads to Las Vegas 1962 to stop Flynn's current mission... once they figure out what it is. Meanwhile, Rufus meets with his old mentor and makes a surprising discovery, and Lucy copes with her fiance in the new timeline.
Flynn's next target is the assassination of Lincoln, and the terrorist plans to make sure that not only Lincoln but the Union's other top officials die. Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus try to stop him but wonder if history might be better served if they save Lincoln as well. Meanwhile, Lucy tries to deal with the repercussions of her life in the new timeline.
When a scientist and CEO creates a time machine, terrorist Garcia Flynn soon steals it and travels back into the past to alter history to his liking. Homeland Security learns of the theft and recruits a team to travel back after Garcia and stop him. First stop: 1937 and the Hindenburg disaster.
